This example illustrates the use of MetaDraw for presentation and active interaction with a map of distinct regions ( in this case USA States). In this example - moving the mouse over a state triggers an event highlighting the state, and updates the text boxes below the map to display the name of the state and its capital city. Hotspot regions may be of any shape, color or pattern. Hotspots may even be invisible shapes defined over a background image. Any data, even a web URL or database pointer, may be associated with a hotspot and the programmer has full control over the action resulting from a mouse move or click over a hotspot area. MetaDraw can be used within a standard Windows application ( VB 6, VB.NET C#, C++, Delphi, Access, etc ) or directly in a Web page ( HTML, ASP, ASP.NET ) under Microsoft Internet Explorer for use within a browser as shown here.
